The Synology DiskStation DS420+ 4-Bay NAS Enclosure is designed for IT enthusiasts and home users, offering a powerful and compact NAS solution for data sharing, video streaming, and photo indexing. Built with a 2.0 GHz Intel Celeron J4025 Dual-Core processor and an AES-NI hardware encryption engine, it provides fast performance and secure data storage.
With its dual M.2 2280 NVMe SSD slots for cache acceleration and 2GB of DDR4 RAM (expandable to 6GB), the DS420+ delivers fast sequential read and write speeds of up to 226 MB/s and 225.74 MB/s, respectively. The dual Gigabit Ethernet ports support link aggregation and failover, ensuring reliable data transfer and connectivity.
The DS420+ runs on Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) OS, a user-friendly, browser-based operating system that simplifies NAS management. It supports up to 2048 user accounts and 1500 maximum concurrent connections, making it ideal for small to medium-sized businesses and home networks.
For data protection, the DS420+ supports various RAID configurations, including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, Synology Hybrid RAID, and Basic RAID, as well as JBOD for individual drive utilization. The enclosure is also designed for energy efficiency, with features like scheduled power on/off cycles, hard drive hibernation, and a noise dampening design rated at 19.8 dBA.
